Trip Description:
This was the first time our daughter, Autumn, went fishing, and the first time in years I had been fishing in Nebraska. She was excited about her new fishing pole, which had Elsa and Anna from the Disney movie Frozen on it. We went fishing as a family at Sack’s Lake near McCool Junction. She didn’t catch any fish, but she had a lot of fun casting her line and reeling it in time after time to see if anything had eaten the corn or worm yet. She liked using corn as bait better than the worms because “worms are icky.” Smiles lit up her face all day long, and it made me so happy to hear the excitement in her voice every time her brother or dad reeled in a fish. I was mostly too busy helping her, but did manage to reel in one sunfish, to which she replied with a huge, exasperated sigh, “It’s about time, Mama!” We made some good memories during this outing!
