Goal: To encourage NGPC staff to become ambassadors for the newly developed recruitment campaign in a fun and exciting challenge.
Objectives:
Increase awareness for R3 among all NGPC employees
Increase awareness and ambassadorship for the mentoring campaign among all NGPC employees
Bring staff together in a fun and rewarding challenge to increase angler/hunter numbers in Nebraska through mentoring
Tracking Our Champions:
Staff will take the take ‘em pledge and document hunting or fishing activities with new or novice hunters or anglers using the staff web page https://gpcstaff.outdoornebraska.gov/take-em-fishing-staff-challenge/
Just follow all the rules of the Nebraska public campaign (Take Em Fishing/Hunting) www.outdoornebraska.org/takeemfishing
Awards will be given in multiple categories:
Top Fishing Mentor by Number of Mentees
Top Hunting Mentor by Number of Mentees
Top Overall District Participation (weighted by district staff numbers)
Top Division Participation
Mentored hunting and fishing occurrences will be recorded on the NGPC staff webpage
The Challenge will run from May 1 – December 31, 2019
Challenge Prizes:
Trophy or plaque for display in winning district office
Trophy or plaque display for winning division
Winning district will be provided a set of fishing and archery supplies to be placed in the location of the district’s choice for future R3 programming
A Take em Hunting/Fishing hat for each staff person in winning district who contributed to the challenge (pledged and mentored)
Winning district will be provided a celebration luncheon for contributing district staff
Winning district, division and staff will be highlighted in the NebraskaLand magazine
Winning district, division and staff will be recognized at the annual Nebraska R3 Summit (2020)
Winning district, division and staff will be recognized at an upcoming Commission Meeting
Individual divisions will also provide prizes for their staff
